Answer:

22 square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of shaded region = Area of square - Area of circle. The diameter of the circle is also the length of the side of the square as the circumference of the circle is on the circumference of the square.

Area of circle = 3.14 × r × r

r = 10 ÷ 2

= 5

Area of circle = 3.14 × 5 × 5

= 78.5

Area of square = length × length

Area of square = 10 × 10

= 100

Area of shaded region = Square - Circle

= 100 - 78.5

= 21.5

= 22 (to the nearest square foot)

I hope this helps :)

You win an online auction for a toy. Your winning bid of $35 is 70% of your maximum bid. How much more were you willing to pay f
luda_lava [24]
35 = 70%

If you divide 35 by 7, you will find what 10% of your maximum bid is.
35/7 = 5
5 = 10%

Multiply your value of 10% by 10 to get 100%.
5*10 = 50

Your maximum bid would be $50. You actually spend $35. To find the amount more you were willing to pay, subtract the two values.
$50-$35 = $15

Answer: You were willing to pay 15 more dollars than you did.

line j is perpendicular to lines m and n. if the products of the slope of all three lines is -8, what is the slope of line j?
jeka94

Answer:

the slope of line j is -1/8, the slope of lines m and n are both 8.

Explanation step by step:

Suppose j is the slope of line j, m the slope of line m and n the slope of line n. Since:

1. line j is perpendicular of line m, so j*m= -1

2. J is perpendicular of line n, so  j*n=-1

3. m and n and parallel so m=n

As we want to know the slope of j we clear the equations presented to us in order to find it.

(1) m* n* j = -8, since n=m we have  n^{2}* j = -8.

we clear j; n^{2} * j = -8 \\ j =\frac{-8}{n^{2} }

replacing in the equation n*j = -1 we get

n*(-8/n^2) = -1. Thus n = 8. Since j = -1/n = -1/8.

Nitella [24]

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+3=x+x+3

add the X's on the right side together.

2x+3=2x+3

subtract 2x from both sides

3=3

subtract 3 from both sides
