Lets first divide the deck into shapes, in this case, we will have three.

The first shape, will be the rectangle that represents the lower portion of the deck. Its' dimensions  are 12ft x 33ft. 396 Square ft.

Next lets do the upper rectangular section. It has the dimensions of (22ft-12ft)*24ft. 240 Square ft.

Third, we have the last remaining shape, the right triangle. Its' dimensions are 1/2(22ft - 12ft)*(33ft - 24ft). 45 Square ft.

Finally! We can now add the three areas together to get the full figure.

396 Square ft + 240 Square ft + 45 Square ft = 681 Square ft!

Two numbers total 63 and have a difference of 31. Find the two numbers
Anastaziya [24]

Answer: 47 and 16

Step-by-step explanation:

- Make Two Equations

x + y = 63

x - y = 31

- Set one of the equations equal to one of the variables

x + y = 63

x = 31 + y

- Substitute the equation back into the other one

(31 + y) + y = 63

31 + 2y = 63

2y = 32

y = 16

- Substitute the answer back into the equation

x + y = 63

x + 16 = 63

x = 47
