The Nullification Crisis occurred during the administration of Andrew Jackson, which included a dispute between South Carolina's states and the national government. It occurred following a declaration from South Carolina that the federal Charges of years 1828 and 1832 were illegal and hence invalid and null within the autonomous borders of the land.
