Answer:

The order in which operations should be done is abbreviated as PEMDAS

Step-by-step explanation:

The order in which operations should be done is abbreviated as PEMDAS:

Parentheses  denoted by '( )'

Exponents   denoted as the power of a number '^'

Multiplication denoted as product of numbers '×'

Division denoted as dividing two numbers '÷'

Addition denoted as sum of two numbers '+'

and Subtraction denoted as difference of two numbers '-'

For example,

To solve 5+(4-2)^2\times 3 \div 6-1 = ? using operation order we first solve parentheses ,

\Rightarrow 5+(2)^2\times 3 \div 6-1

Then exponents,

\Rightarrow 5+ 4\times 3 \div 6-1

then, multiplication,

\Rightarrow 5+ 12\div 6-1

now, division

\Rightarrow 5+2-1

now addition and then subtraction,

\Rightarrow 7-1=6

Thus,  solving 5+(4-2)^2\times 3 \div 6-1 = ? using operation order we find the value as 6.

A common technique that is being used in solving with several arithmetic operations is the PEMDAS. It stands for "Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction". It is the order to be followed when calculating <span>involving more than one arithmetic operation.</span>
