Answer:

i. D:All real numbers

ii.R:y\le-2

iii. Y-int: b=-2.5

Step-by-step explanation:

The given function is

y=-\frac{1}{2} |x-1|-2

The domain of this function are the values of x that makes the function defined.

The absolute value function is defined for all real values.

The domain is all real numbers.

ii. The range refers to the values of y for which x is defined.

y=-\frac{1}{2} |x-1|-2

The vertex of this function is

(1,-2)

The function is reflected in the x-axis.

The vertex is therefore the maximum point on the graph of the function.

The range is therefore;

y\le-2

Or

(-\infty,2]

iii. To find the y-intercept, we substitute x=0 into the funtion.

y=-\frac{1}{2} |0-1|-2

y=-\frac{1}{2} (1)-2

y=-2.5

The y-intercept is b=-2.5

The graph is shown in the attachment.

Answer:

a)6

b)v^2-u^2/2a

Step-by-step explanation:

a)Given that,

u=12

a= -6

s=9

We know that,

v^2=u^2+2as

or, v^2=(12)^2+2×(-6)×9

or,v^2=144-108

or,v^2=36

or, v=√36

∴v=6

         (Ans)

b)If ,v^2=u^2+2as

then, u^2+2as=v^2

or,2as=v^2-u^2

or, s=v^2-u^2/2a

∴s=v^2-u^2/2a

Hope ya find it helpful.. Thanks a lot...

A manufacturer of matches randomly and independently puts 23 matches in each box of matches produced. The company knows that one
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

0.9855 or 98.55%.

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability of each individual match being flawed is p = 0.008. The probability that a matchbox will have one or fewer matches with a flaw is the same as the probability of a matchbox having exactly one or exactly zero matches with a flaw:

P(X\leq 1)=P(X=0)+P(X=1)\\P(X\leq 1)=(1-p)^{23}+23*(1-p)^{23-1}*p\\P(X\leq 1)=(1-0.008)^{23}+23*(1-0.008)^{23-1}*0.008\\P(X\leq 1)=0.8313+0.1542\\P(X\leq 1)=0.9855

The probability  that a matchbox will have one or fewer matches with a flaw is 0.9855 or 98.55%.

If you had to pick a number 1-4 what would be the luckiest?
earnstyle [38]

I always feel drawn to the number 2 for some reason because it is in the middle between 2 and four and usually when given an option to pick a number I never pick a number that they say. Personally I just feel drawn to pick the number 2 its a nice even number and perhaps could be lucky :)

suppose you know that two angles,angle A and B,are supplementary.The measure of angle A is 5 times the measure of angle B. Find
Morgarella [4.7K]
Angle A is 150
Angle B is 30
Supplementary= 180, so....
Angle A + Angle B = 180
150 + 30= 180

hope this helps

TEA [102]

Answer:

r = 16, q = 16√2

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a 45° 45° 90° triangle. In this type of triangle, the legs of said shape will be equal and the hypotenuse will be the leg length multiplied by √2.

Therefore, r = 16 and q = 16√2.
