Yeah my best guess would be C but like the answer before it is grams for weight but I could be confusing it with mass but C would be my safe and best guess

Based on the data given, in what direction will the car accelerate?
skad [1K]
Vertical forces:
There is a force of 579N acting upward, and a force of 579N
acting downward.
The vertical forces are balanced ... they add up to zero ...
so there's no vertical acceleration.
Not up, not down.

Horizontal forces:
There is a force of 487N acting to the left, and a force of 632N
acting to the right.
The net horizontal force is

        (487-left + 632-right)  -  (632-right - 487-right) =  145N to the right.

The net force on the car is all to the right.
The car accelerates to the right.

If light energy to electric energy conversion using solar cells is 12 % efficient, how many square miles of land must be covered
umka2103 [35]

Complete Question

The light energy that falls on a square meter of ground over the course of a typical sunny day is about 20 MJ . The average rate of electric energy consumption in one house is 1.0 kW .

If light energy to electric energy conversion using solar cells is 12 % efficient, how many square miles of land must be covered with solar cells to supply the electrical energy for 350000 houses? Assume there is no cloud cover.

Answer:

The area is  A = 1.26 *10^{7} m^2

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

      The efficiency is  \eta =12%

      The number of houses is N = 350000

       The light energy per day is E = 20 \ MJ

       The average rating of electric energy for a house is  E_h  =  1.0 \ k W =  1000W

Generally the electric energy which the solar cells covering 1 \ m^2 produces in a day is

       E_s =  \eta * E

           E_s =  0.12 * 20*10^{6}

          E_s = 2.4 MJ m^{-2}

Energy for required by one house for one day is

        E_H  = E_h * 1 \ day

       E_H  = 1000 * 24 * 3600

        E_H  = 86.4 MJ

Energy needed for 350000 house is

      E_z = 86.4 *10^{6} *  350000

     E_z = 3.02 *10^{7} MJ

The area covered is mathematically represented as

            A = \frac{3.02*10^{7} \ MJ}{2.4 \ MJ m^{-2}}

           A = 1.26 *10^{7} m^2

How many turns should a coil wrapped around the outside of the solenoid have so that the emf induced in the coil is 15 V
Temka [501]

The number of turns a coil wrapped around the outside of the solenoid should have is : 127 turns

Given data :

Diameter of solenoid  =  25-cm

Rate of increase of magnetic field = 2.4 T/s

Induced emf = 15 v

Determine the number of turns of the coil

Induced emf = N ( dФ / dt ) ---- ( 1 )

where : ( dФ / dt )  = ( A (db/dt) )

Equation ( 1 ) becomes

Induced emf = N A ( db/dt ) ------ (2)

From equation ( 2 )

N = Induced emf / A ( db/dt ) ------ ( 3 )

where : Induced emf = 15 v . db/dt = 2.4 T/s , A = area of solenoid

Area of solenoid = πr² = π * ( 0.125 )²

Insert values into equation ( 3 )

N = 15 / ( π * ( 0.125 )² ) * 2.4

   = 127.32 ≈ 127 turns

Hence we can conclude that The number of turns a coil wrapped around the outside of the solenoid should have is : 127 turns.
