-k-5k=-5k-4

Combine -5k and -k = -6k

-6k=-5k-4

add 5k to -6k which equals -1k

divide -1 by -4

answer k=4

How to find the slope and y intercept from two coordinate pairs
aivan3 [116]
First use the slope formula to form the slope

Calculate the slope of the line on the graph
Tamiku [17]

Answer:

3.5 (meters per second)

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate the slope, we need two points. Let's see if we can select two points from the graph.

From the graph, we can pick out two possible points.

At the beginning, (0,2.5) is a valid candidate.

And at the end, with (5,20). Thus, let's use the slope formula to calculate the slope.

The slope formula is:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Let (0,2.5) be x₁ and y₁ and let (5,20) be x₂ and y₂. Thus:

m=\frac{20-2.5}{5-0}

Simplify:

m=\frac{17.5}{5}\\ m=3.5

Thus, the slope is 3.5 meters per second.

Further notes:

And the entire equation will be:

m=3.5s+2.5

Which statements about the local maximums and minimums for the given function are true? Choose three options.
Nataliya [291]

The statements about the local maximums and minimums for the given function which are true include:

  • Over the interval [2, 4], the local minimum is –8.
  • Over the interval [3, 5], the local minimum is –8.
  • Over the interval [1, 4], the local maximum is 0.

<h3>What is Function?</h3>

This is defined as the mathematical entities which assign unique outputs to given inputs and defines a relationship between the two variables.

According the the graph: over the interval [2, 4], the local minimum is –8 because the given minimum point is (3.4, -8) and over the interval [3, 5], the local minimum is –8.

Over the interval [1, 4], the local maximum is 0 and over the interval [3, 5], there is no maximum point hence why it is false.
