Answer: Required expression is,

\frac{2\times 1\frac{1}{4}+\frac{5}{2}}{\frac{3}{4}}

Approximately 7 cans are required.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The number of cups required for lasagna recipe = 1\frac{1}{4}

After doubling lasagna recipe, the number of cups required = 2\times 1\frac{1}{4}

Also, the number of cups required for each pizza = \frac{1}{2}

If the number of pizza = 5,

Then the number of cups required for 5 pizza = \frac{5}{2}

So, the total cups required = 2\times 1\frac{1}{4}+\frac{5}{2}

Hence, number of '3/4-cup cans' of tomato paste

=\frac{\text{Total cups required}}{\frac{3}{4}}

=\frac{2\times 1\frac{1}{4}+\frac{5}{2}}{\frac{3}{4}}

=\frac{2\times \frac{5}{4}+\frac{5}{2}}{\frac{3}{4}}

=\frac{\frac{10}{4}+\fra{5}{2}}{\frac{3}{4}}

=\frac{\frac{10+10}{4}}{\frac{3}{4}}

=\frac{\frac{20}{4}}{\frac{3}{4}}

=\frac{20}{3}

=6.667\approx 7
