78.54 m² is your answer. So to recap, a goat tethered to a stake in the ground with a 5 m rope has 78.54 meters to graze.

We get this answer by putting the information into an equation. We know that a circle has 360° (360 degrees) and so when we see the problem say that the goat can graze 360 degrees around the stake, we instantly know it's talking about a circle. Look at the question, it's asking about the area of the circle. Now we can make an equation to find the area of this circle.

The area of a circle is A = πr²

That's Area = Pi times Radius squared.

We'll use 3.14 as substitute for Pi. The radius was given to us, it is 5 m. Put the information into the formula.

A = 3.14 * 5²

Now we do the order of operations. In the order of operations, we have no parenthesis to work with, but we do have an exponent. So we take 5 to the second power, (5² = 5 * 5) and we update our problem.

A = 3.14 * 25

Now we finish the problem by multiplying 3.14 and 25.

A = 78.54

We're not entirely done. Now we include our units of measurement. In this case, we were using m for meters. When solving for area, the unit is always squared in the final answered. So this would be our final answer:

A = 78.54 m²

For what real value of $v$ is $\frac{-21-\sqrt{301}}{10}$ a root of $5x^2+21x+v$?
Degger [83]

Answer:

v = 7

is the value for which

x = (-21 - √301)/10

is a solution to the quadratic equation

5x² + 21x + v = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that

x = (-21 - √301)/10 .....................(1)

is a root of the quadratic equation

5x² + 21x + v = 0 ........................(2)

We want to find the value of v foe which the equation is true.

Consider the quadratic formula

x = [-b ± √(b² - 4av)]/2a ..................(3)

Comparing (3) with (2), notice that

b = 21

2a = 10

=> a = 10/2 = 5

and

b² - 4av = 301

=> 21² - 4(5)v = 301

-20v = 301 - 441

-20v = -140

v = -140/(-20)

v = 7

That is a = 5, b = 21, and v = 7

The equation is then

5x² + 21x + 7 = 0

What is the value of d?

Round your answer to the nearest tenth.
Sergeeva-Olga [200]

Answer:

11.9 mm

Step-by-step explanation:

We can find d by applying the cosine rules.

d² = 21² + 27² - 2(21)(27) cos (25)

d² = 441 + 729 - 1027.75

d² = 142.25

d = √142.25

d = 11.9 mm (nearest tenth)

Graph the image of the given triangle, translated 4 units to the right and 5 units down.
Goryan [66]

Answer- Follow the attachment attached herewith.

Solution-

As we know if we are moving in left or right, we have to deal with the x - direction or x co-ordinate and if we are moving in up and down , we have to deal with y - direction or y co-ordinate .

If we are moving in right ,we have to add in x co-ordinate and if we are moving left we have subtract from x co-ordinate. Likewise, if we are moving up, we have to add in y co-ordinate and if we are moving down, then we have to subtract from y co-ordinate.

As given in the question, we have move the triangle 4 units right and 5 units down,

The co-ordinate of given triangles'

A = (-1,3)

B = (-5,-3)

C = (2,-1)

∴Then the new co-ordinate will be

A' = (-1+4 , 3-5) = (3,-2)

B' = (-5+4 , -3-5) = (-1,-8)

C' = (2+4 , -1-5) = (6,-6)
