The washer costs 535 dollars if I am correct. I don’t know if I am.

Basically since the total is 890 and you want to find the cost of two different things, you divide 890 by 2.

This then gives you 445 which is half of 890 but we are not done yet. The washer costs 90$ MORE than the dryer so we have to add 90 to 445.

445 + 90 = 535

So the washer is 535$. But the question is also asking for the cost of the dryer. Since 535$ is just some money out of the 890$ that is the amount of money paid all togther, you subtract 890 - 535 to find to cost of the dryer.

890 - 535 = 355

So the dryer costs 355$ and the washer costs 535$. I hope this helps. Again, I am not completely sure if this is right because I don’t know which type of math you are doing but I hope this helps you.

aivan3 [116]

Answer:

x represents the number of level 1 tickets; y represents the number of level 2 tickets

Step-by-step explanation:

The first equation (x + y = 1,000 ) shows that x + y equal to the number of seats in the auditorium. That means that they represent the number of tickets. In the second equation (75x + 100y = 25,000) x and y are being multiplied by the cost of their level ticket. So x represents the number of level 1 tickets; y represents the number of level 2 tickets.

hope this helps!
