Imagine that the digestion of a meal has just provided a new supply of glucose and amino acids in your midgut (small intestine).

Then imagine all the steps that will take place as your body uses the glucose and amino acids and disposes of the waste products that are produced. List all the individual and specific functions your circulatory system will perform during this sequence of events. Arrange your list in the correct temporal order.

Answer: absorption, flow of the blood, tissues and organs, lungs, kidney, urea

Explanation:

At first, there would be the absorption of the glucose and amino acids. That process will be happening through the midgut of the small intestine and glucose and amino acids will enter the blood in the capillaries which are settled in the midgut. Then, we have a flow of the blood through capillary beds and then trough tissues and organs.

Glucose and amino acids will then enter the cells of those tissues and those organs and they will do that after they leave the blood. Some of the specific functions that may happen are that glucose and amino acids will be released by cells and then the blood can transport them to other ones. Cells can also break down glucose and amino acids and that is not good because we get then waste of the products that can enter and get in touch with blood.

When it comes to other organs, we have lungs, kidney, urea. CO2 can be carried to the lungs and there it will be exhaled. Then, urea will be carried to the kidneys. When amino acids leave the blood the will enter the nephrons and then we will have excretion od them in the urine.
