\sf Slope= \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Where \sf (x_1,y_1), (x_2,y_2) are the two points.

So

\sf Slope = \frac{ -10-(-5)}{7-2}=\frac{-10+5}{7-2}=\frac{-5}{5}=-1

So the slope of (2,-5) and (7,-10) was \boxed{ -1}

From the side view, a gymnastics mat forms a right triangle with other angles measuring 60° and 30°. The gymnastics mat extends
valkas [14]

Answer: The mat is 4.33 ft high off the ground.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Angle of elevation with the first triangle = 30°

Angle of elevation with the second triangle = 60°

Length at which gymnastics mat extends across the floor = 5 feet

so, As shown in the figure:

We need to find the height of the mat off the ground.

If CD = 5 ft,

Let,  AB = y, DC = x.

In Δ ABC,

\tan 60^\circ=\frac{AB}{BC}\\\\\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}=\frac{y}{x}\\\\x=\frac{y}{\sqrt{3}}

Similarly, in Δ ACD,

\tan 30^\circ=\frac{AB}{BD}\\\\\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{y}{x+5}\\\\\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{y}{\frac{y}{\sqrt{3}}+5}\\\\\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{y\sqrt{3}}{y+5\sqrt{3}}\\\\3y=y+5\sqrt{3}\\\\2y=5\sqrt{3}\\\\y=\frac{5\sqrt{3}}{2}\\\\y=4.33\ ft

Hence, the mat is 4.33 ft high off the ground.

Colin loves to play the piano but doesn't like practicing the exercises his piano teacher assigns. Colin
kati45 [8]

The linear equation for the number of cookies he receives, for x hours practicing the piano, is:

y = x + 10

A <u>linear function</u> has the format given by:

y = mx + b

In which:

  • m is the slope, which is the rate of change.
  • b is the y-intercept, which is the value of y when x = 0.

In this problem:

  • We have two points: (5,15) and (10,20).
  • The slope is given by <u>change in y divided by change in x</u>, then:

m = \frac{20 - 15}{10 - 5} = \frac{5}{5} = 1

Then

y = x + b

Point (5,15) means that when x = 5, y = 15, which is used to find b.

15 = 5 + b

b = 10

The, the function is:

y = x + 10

Sophie made 5 identical batches of dinner rolls for a restaurant. There was a total of 1,265 rolls. If each batch contained the
Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

759 rolls

Step-by-step explanation:

Total rolls = 1265

Number of batches = 5

Since each batch hs the same number of rolls:

Number of rolls per batch :

1265 / 5

= 253 rolls per batch

Number of rolls in 3 batches :

253 * 3 batches

= 759 rolls
