You are the vice president of a computer sales company. You could save significant money by firing one of two employees who serv

ice the northwest region: Gary and Brenda. Gary is a long-time employee with an excellent sales record and a forceful demeanor. However, you and Gary have conflicted in the past when you rejected his request for a significant raise. Brenda has been struggling with her sales quotas lately, but is very popular amongst her co-workers. She has also been a quiet confident for key sales decisions. Evaluate whether you should layoff Brenda, Gary, or neither employee, and give the reasons for your decision.

Answer:

I would fire Gary.

Explanation:

Even if Gary has a better sales record, he seems to be unable to keep good personal relationships, both with coworkers and clients. This in the long-run could become more problematic and lead to a decline in sales record, and also, a decline in other areas.

Brenda, on the other hand, needs to improve her sales record, but she has strong interpersonal skills that give her an advatange. It is easier to teach a person how to sell than how to be a well-mannered person, therefore, in theory, if should not be so difficult to help Brenda reach higher sales.

NeTakaya

Answer:

Future value at the end of 19 years =$63,637.94

Explanation:

The Future value (FV) of an investment is the total amount (principal plus interest) that will accumulate in the future where interest is paid and compounded at a particular rate per period for a certain number of periods.

This can be done using the formula below

FV = PV × (1+r)^(n)

FV- Future Value

PV- amount invested, n- number of years, r - interest rate

The amount due after 19 years would be determined in two steps

Step 1: FV of 24,500 at 5.5% for 8 years

FV = 24,500× (1+0.055)^8 =37,599.819

Step 2 : FV of 37599.81962 invested for 11 years at 4.9% p.a

FV = ? P=37,599.81, n- 11, r- 4.9%

FV = 37,599.81 × (1.049)^11= 63,637.94

Future value at the end of 19 years =$63,637.94

Furkat [3]

Answer:

$326,622.73

Explanation:

Calculation to determine How much will you have in your account if you make deposits for 20 years

Using this formula

Future value = Annuity × {( 1 + interest rate) ^ time period - 1} ÷ interest rate

Future value = $5,900 × {( 1 + 0.097 ^ 20 years - 1} ÷ 0.097

Future value= $5,900 × 55.3597842916

Future value= $326,622.73

Therefore the amount you will have in your account if you make deposits for 20 years is $326,622.73
