Explanation:

It is known that an electron pair represents a domain. Hybridization of BF_{3} will be calculated as follows.

Hybridization = \frac{1}{2}[\text{Valence electrons of central atom + no. of bonded atoms + negative charge - positive charge}]

Valence electrons of boron are 3 and no. of bonded atoms in a BF_{3} molecule is 3.

Therefore, calculate hybridization of BF_{3} as follows.

Hybridization = \frac{1}{2}[\text{Valence electrons of central atom + no. of bonded atoms + negative charge - positive charge}]

                              = \frac{1}{2}[3 + 3 + 0]

                               = 3

Hence, hybridization of BF_{3} is sp^{2}, that is, trigonal planar.

Thus, we can conclude that the given image represents that it is a trigonal planar molecule with three domains.

Rank the following in terms of decreasing miscibility in C₈H₁₈ (octane), a major component of gasoline:
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

In order of decreasing miscibility

C₉H₂₀ (nonane)→C₂H₅F (fluoroethane)→C₂H₅Cl (chloroethane)→H₂O (water)

Explanation:

The solubility of a solid is a measure of its ability to dissolve in a liquid while for liquids,  the miscibility is a measure of thhe liquid to mix with anoyjer liquid resulting in a soltion which can hold any amount of either liquids. Immiscible liquids are those that are not soluble or have very limited solibility with each other.

C₉H₂₀ (nonane)→C₂H₅F (fluoroethane)→C₂H₅Cl (chloroethane)→H₂O (water)

In the order of decreasing miscibility as like dissolve like, ability to dissociate and polar and organic characteristics are considered

What natural resources are used to make chloroquine?
Nitella [24]
In areas where resistance is present, otherantimalarials<span>, such as </span>mefloquine<span> or atovaquone, may be used instead. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend against treatment of malaria with chloroquine alone due to more effective combinations.</span>

The surface temperature on Venus may approach 757 K. What is this temperature in degrees Celsius?
kotykmax [81]

Explanation:

1 ) Temperature of Venus in Kelvins =  757 Kelvins

0^oC=273 Kelvins

Temperature of Venus in degrees Celsius =757-273 K=484 K

2 ) Temperature on Mercury at night = -269^oF

(T)^oC=((T)^oF-32)\times \frac{5}{9}

(T)^oC=((-269)^oF-32)\times \frac{5}{9}=167.22^oC

Temperature on Mercury at night in degree Celsius = 167.22° C

What do the rows of the periodic table periodic table indicate
Tatiana [17]

Answer:

The rows on the periodic table are called periods. All the elements in a period have valence electrons in the same shell. The number of valence electrons increases from left to right in the period. When the shell is full, a new row is started and the process repeats.
