John Stuart Mills explains pleasure qualities in the concept of utilitarianism
He lists two types of pleasure experienced by humans in their pursuit for happiness : high quality pleasures and lower quality pleasures. High quality pleasures according to mill are pleasures that are chosen over other pleasures even if other pleasures are in higher quantities or there is pain experienced with chosen pleasure as opposed to lower quality pleasures.
