The variable in question are both subtracted from the root given to get the actor of the quadratic equation or polynomial. We can get the resulting quadratic function by multiplying both factors together as shown;
(x-5)(x-2/3)
= x²- 2x/3 -5x +10/3
= x²-(2x-15x)/3+10/3
= x²-17x/3 +10/3
Multiply through by 3
= 3x²-17x +10 = 0
The resulting quadratic equation for both factors will be 3x²-17x +10 = 0 and the other factor is x-2/3
