Answer:

Mitochondria is known as the powerhouse of the cell as it provides energy to the cell for performing different functions.

If a toxin causes pore in the inner membrane of the mitochondria and  increases the permeability of the mitochondrial membranes. The permeability of mitochondrial membranes leads to mitochondrial swelling and causes cell death through necrosis and apoptosis.

During DNA replication, a primer attaches to a template strand of DNA and begins a new strand. After the primer has attached, an
polet [3.4K]

Answer:

DNA polymerase

Explanation:

Prior to cell division, the DNA of that cell must be replicated in order for each daughter cell to receive the correct amount of genetic material (DNA). This process of DNA replication occurs in the Synthesis phase of Interphase. Before DNA starts replicating, the double-stranded DNA is unwound by an enzyme called DNA HELICASE to form two separate single strands.

Each of these strands serves as a template for replicating a new strand. An enzyme called DNA primase catalyzes the attachment of short nuceleotide sequences called PRIMER to the template strand in order for DNA POLYMERASE to synthesis/add new nucleotides to the growing DNA.

DNA polymerase adds nucleotides that are complementary to the ones it reads on the template strand.
