Electronegativity of an element refers to its tendency to attract a pair of electrons towards itself.

An ionic bond is formed by the complete transfer of electrons from one element to the other. This implies that the combining elements should exhibit a large difference in their electronegativity values.

In contrast, a covalent bond is formed by a mutual sharing of electrons between 2 atoms that do not differ much in their electronegativity values.

Given Electronegativity values are:

A = 0.75

B = 3.2

C = 3.7

a) The difference in electronegativity is the greatest between A and C i.e. 3.7 - 0.75 = 2.95. Hence, AC will form an ionic bond

b) The difference is least between B and C i.e. 3.7 -3.2 = 0.5. Hence, BC will form a covalent bond

c) In AC, C is more electronegative than A

C = anion and A = cation

1. What is the mass of 2.65×1023 atoms of lithium? grams
masya89 [10]

Answer: 3.05 grams

Explanation:

To find the mass in grams, we need to use Avogadro's number and the molar mass of lithium.

Avogadro's number: 6.022×10²³ atoms/mol

Molar mass: 6.94 g/mol

2.65*10^2^3 atoms*\frac{mol}{6.022*10^2^3 atoms} *\frac{6.94g}{mol} =3.05 g

According to Darwin’s theory if evolution, which organism are Best able to survive in nature
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

Organism best adapted to the environment are able to survive in nature!

Explanation:

Suppose there was a green forest but after a volcano eruption all the green colored vegetation is lost and the area turns black . Now some organisms did survive...you have a black rat, and a white rat. You also have vultures flying in sky looking for prey. Overtime, the organism best adapted to environment can reproduce more and survive in nature. In our example, the black rats are the best adapted because their color matches with the environment so the eagles or vultures would have a hard time spotting them, whereas, a white rat in a black environment can be easily spotted so it has less adaptation to the nature.
