I’d say manipulation is a big one (ex. i’ll k!ll myself if you leave me)
obviously physical abuse
when being with your s/o instantly kills your mood, often arguments
trying to convince you to do things you do not want to do / things that make you uncomfortable
after arguing, will come to you and say how sorry they are and talk about how much you guys are meant to be with eachother, and says they will change, but they do not change and the cycle repeats

these are just signs for me!! they may not fit you situation

Answer:

If you were in a situation where in which you met someone who became very close friends with you, or started dating you. They slowly isolated you from your family and friends. They would make offhand comments about a friend of yours, or mention something a sibling did. They would make you feel like you could trust them and only them. But then they would do things that you question and ask them about. That's when the manipulation starts even worse. Gaslighting and lying, leaving you after every conversation feeling like the bad guy. They get you to do what they want and you're unhappy, and you don't even realize there's something wrong with the relationship as it slowly eats away at your self esteem.

Explanation:

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I've done quite a bit of research on manipulative abusive relationships because I never want to be in one or for my friends to be in one. If anyone thinks I mixed something up or gotten something wrong I'll be happy to fix it!

faltersainse [42]
1. THEY FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE

While not ignoring the bad news, people have made a conscious decision to not spend a lot of time and energy focusing on problems. Rather, they look at what is positive in a situation and look for solutions to a problem. These people focus on what they are able to do and that which is within their control.

2. THEY ARE FORWARD THINKING AND WILLING TO LET GO OF THE PAST

People  are too busy thinking of possibilities in the future to spend a lot of time dwelling upon things that didn’t work out in the past. They take the learning from their past failures and apply it to their actions in the future. They never see failure as permanent or a personal reflection of themselves.
