The correct answer is: C. sequences of nitrogenous bases in the cell’s DNA

The synthesis of proteins is a final phase of gene expression. Gene expression is initiated in the cell nucleus, where specific enzymes copy the segment of DNA into mRNA. This process is called transcription and it is performed via RNA polymerase. mRNA molecule then moves from the nucleus to the cytoplasm, where the translation take place. Translation is the process where mRNA is “decoded” in the ribosome and polypeptide chain synthesized. After folding, polypeptide chain becomes protein.

What evidence do paleobotanists look for that indicates the movement of plants from water to land?
attashe74 [19]

The evidence that paleobotanists look for that indicates the movement of plants from water to land is the possession of waxy cuticle to decrease evaporation from leaves.

What are some adaptations of plants on land compared to water?

Plants possess various adaptive features which enables them to survive on land or in water.

Plants that are found in water are known as aquatic plants. They possess features which enable them to get rid of excess water as well as to stay afloat on water. For example, their leaves are waxy to enable them remain afloat.

Plants found on land are terrestrial plants and possess features that enable them survive on land. They possess features which prevent excessive water loss such as waxy cuticle.

Therefore, the evidence that paleobotanists look for that indicates the movement of plants from water to land is the possession of waxy cuticle to decrease evaporation from leaves.

In conclusion, plants show adaptations as they moved from water to land.

A beaker of water is separated by a selectively permeable membrane that allows the passage of water but not ions. A solution of
postnew [5]

Answer:

osmosis

Explanation:

The process that was going is osmosis.

Osmosis is the movement of water molecules from regions of high water potential to regions of low water potentials through a selectively permeable membrane.

In this case, the membrane is only permeable to water movement and not ions and water molecules move from the side with pure water (which happens to have higher water potential) to the side with 4% sodium chloride until equilibrium in water potential is established between the two sides.

The combined observations of Matthias Schleiden, Theodor Schwann and Rudolph
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer:

The option 'All cells contain a nucleus' is not a part of the cell theory.

Explanation:

The cell theory proposed by scientists illustrates that every organism whether prokaryotic or eukaryotic is made up of a cell or different kinds of cells. It also that explains that cells are made from living things. According to the cell theory, cells are termed as the basic unit of life, without which life is not possible.

The cell theory does not claim that every cell must have a nucleus because many cells like cells of prokaryotes lack nucleus. Their genetic material is dispersed in the cytoplasm.
