Answer:

The equation in B is true.

We know this in two ways. Firstly, we know since it sold 86 items, that we have the amount of hot dogs (h) and then the amount of lemonade would be (86 - h), or how ever many is left over after the hot dogs.

Solutions

There are two equations in the system of equations in this problem.
Let x = lemonade and y = hot dogs

Equation # 1

x + y = 86

This says that the vendor sold 86 items.

Equation # 2

2x + 5y = 330

= $2 for each lemonade
= $5 for each hot dog.

= total amount earned is $330.

Only these two equations are true and needed.

Jim drank 245 cups of orange juice and Jack drank 1110 cups less than Jim.
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Jim drank 2 and 4/5 orange juice

2and 4/5=14/5 orange juice

jack drank 1and 1/10 less than Jim= 11/10 less than Jim

I introduce the whole numbers into the fractions

we will convert the number 14/5 into a fraction that has the denominator 10, by multiplying by 2 both numerator and denominator

(14/5 )*2=28/10

Now we can find out how much juine Jack drank

28/10- 11/10= 17/10

so Jack drank 17/10 orange juice , the fraction can be written also as

1 and 7/10

What is the range of the function f(x) = |x| – 3?
Likurg_2 [28]
Why not draw the graph of y=|x|? It has a v-shape, and the vertex is at (0,0).

The graph of f(x) = |x| - 3 looks exactly the same, EXCEPT that the whole graph of |x| is shifted 3 units downward. The smallest value that y can have is therefore -3.

Can you now figure out the range of f(x)?
