Answer: An arithmetic sequence is of the form:

aₙ = a₀ + (n -1)*d

So the difference between a term and the nextone is always the same, and in our case the numbers are 5,8,13,21,34,55.

The distance between the numbers is not constant, so this is not a arithmetic sequence.

a geometric sequence is of the form: aₙ = a*rⁿ

So the therms grow exponentially.

here a₀ = a*r⁰ = a = 5.

a₁ = a*r¹ = 5*r = 13, then r = 13/5 = 2.6

a₂ = a*r² = 5*2.6*2.6 = 33.8, so here we can see that this is not our series, so our series isn't geometric.

So the answer for the first part is neither.

Now, the sequence is  5,8,13,21,34,55, ...

you can see that

5 + 8 = 13

13 + 8 = 21,

21 + 34 = 55

So our sequence is of the form: aₙ = aₙ₋₁ + aₙ₋₂.

then, the next term will be: 55 + 21= 76.

Review the proof step statement 1 cos(2x) = 1-sin^2(x)
ehidna [41]

Answer:

Option (3)

Step-by-step explanation:

Correct steps for the proof are,

 Step                                Statement

       1                             cos(2x) = 1 - 2sin²(x)

       2                             Let 2x = θ

       3                              x = \frac{\theta}{2}

       4                             \text{cos}\theta = 1 - 2\text{sin}^2(\frac{\theta}{2} )

       5                             \text{cos}\theta-1 =-2\text{sin}^2(\frac{\theta}{2} )

       6                             1-\text{cos}\theta =2\text{sin}^2(\frac{\theta}{2} )

       7                              \frac{1-\text{cos}\theta}{2} =\text{sin}^2(\frac{\theta}{2} )

       8                             \pm \sqrt{\frac{1-\text{cos}\theta}{2} }=\text{sin}(\frac{\theta}{2} )

There is a mistake in step 6.

Therefore, Option (3) will be the answer.

In need of some help please.
Hatshy [7]
By the Pythagorean theorem
  50^2 = x^2 +(x +34)^2
  2500 = 2x^2 +68x + 1156
  x^2 +34x -672 = 0
  (x -14)(x +48) = 0
  x = 14 or -48

The distance from the wall to the base of the ladder is 14 ft.

_____
7-24-25 is a Pythagorean triple. The dimensions here are double those values. It can be handy to know a few of the Pythagorean triples, as that can let you write down the answers to problems without having to go through the equations.

Which object will have more inertia? Object A that has a mass of 250 grams, Object B, that has a mass of 25,000 grams, or Object
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

3.  Object C.

Step-by-step explanation:

The inertia of an object is the measure of the force required to set it in motion.  For two objects to have the same motion, the one with the greater mass will require a proportionately greater force to achieve the same motion.

Object C, with a mass of 1,250,000 grams (1,250 kg) will have the greatest inertia.

The bottom floor of a parking garage has an elevation of -36 feet. The top floor is 124 feet higher. What is the elevation of th
Reika [66]

Answer:

x-36=214

Step-by-step explanation:

If you already have the elevation of the bottom floor, you need to figure out how to get the top floor's elevation by taking 124 and 36 and adding them together. You will get 160. Then, take 160 and plug it in for x, leaving you with x-36=124 or 160-36=124. Hope this helps.
