Two electric force vectors act on a particle. Their x-components are 13.5 N and −7.40 N and their y-components are −12.0 N and −

4.70 N, respectively. For the resultant electric force, find the following.
(a) the x-component N
(b) the y-component N
(c) the magnitude of the resultant electric force N
(d) the direction of the resultant electric force, measured counterclockwise from the positive x-axis ° counterclockwise from the +x-axis

Answer:

Explanation:

Given two vectors as follows

E₁ = 13.5 i -12 j

E₂ = -7.4 i - 4.7 j

Resultant E = E₁ + E₂

= 13.5 i -12 j -7.4 i - 4.7 j

E = 6.1 i - 16.7 j

a ) X component of resultant = 6.1 N

b ) y component of resultant = -16.7 N

Magnitude of resultant = √ ( 6.1² + 16.7² )

= 17.75 N

d ) If θ be the required angle

tanθ = 16.7 / 6.1 = 2.73

θ = 70° .

counterclockwise = 360 - 70 = 290°

Groups

Same number of valence electrons

Li, Na, K

Explanation:

A.

If the periodic table is not color coded, the groups of elements gives the arrangement of atoms with the same chemical properties.

All elements that are in the same group have the same chemical properties.

Periodic table groups are also called family. They are the vertical columns on the periodic table.

B.

Elements that same number of electrons in outermost shell have the same chemical properties.

The outermost shell is called the valence shell of an atom.

They are the shell containing the most loosely held electrons. Group 1 has just one electron in their outermost shell.

C.

Li Na k group 1

F Cl Br group 7

How do you determine true displacement value of an object that has moved?
WITCHER [35]
Diceplacement is the distance an object has traveled in a certain direction
for example, if you were to walk North for 20m, then east for 40m, the distance you have traveled is 60m however your displacement is the distance between your starting position and your end position;
sqrt(20^2+40^2) = 44.7m
and because displacement is a vector, there needs to be a direction;
sin(theta)=40/44.7
theta=63.4 degrees East of North

therefore the true displacement is 44.7m at 63.4 degrees East of North

if a 0.040-kg stone is whirled horizontally on the end of a 60-m string at a speed of 4.4 m/s, what is the centripetal force ? *
SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

0.013N

Explanation:

F=\frac{mv^{2} }{r}

m=0.04, v=4.4m/s, r=60

F=0.013 N
