Answer:

a) 95

b) 25 : 1

Step-by-step explanation:

a-

Lets look for ovious factors lower than 760. A glaring one is 400 so lets start there.

400 / 8 = 50

760 - 400 = 360

360 is a much more obvious to have a factor of 8 nearby as its 10 * 36, and is just 9 * 4. From this we get 320.

320/8 = (32/8) * 10 = 40

So far the total is 90.

360 - 320 = 40

40 as we know is just 8 * 5 so we know to add another 5 to the total we have so far.

90 + 5 = 95

b-

You can look for common factors of both the numbers, one that is quickly found is 2, 3 and 9. We know this as 45 is a factor of 450 and the factor of 45 are 9, 3, 5 and factors of 18 are 9, 2, 3, 6.

When dealing with ratio's as with fractions I find that using the larger number leads to the simplified answer quicker, which is often also the desired answer unless otherwise stated.

As we know that both have factors of 9 we can divide both by nine. You could also divide 450 by 10 first but you'll then have to multiply is by five as we're going too in the end divide it by two to simplify it so that both sides are equal.

18/9 = 2, and 450/9 = (45/9) * 10 = 50

2 : 50 == 1 : 25 == 25 : 1

Also, next time please show what you want answered as it looks like you're giving one question while asking for two answers at first.

Suppose 232subjects are treated with a drug that is used to treat pain and 50of them developed nausea. Use a 0.01significance le
Margarita [4]

Answer:

A

   The  correct option is B

B

   t =  0.6093

C

 p-value  =  0.27116

D

The  correct option is  D

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

    The  sample size is  n  =  232

    The  number that developed  nausea  is X =  50

    The population proportion is  p  =  0.20

The  null hypothesis is   H_o : p  =  0.20

The  alternative hypothesis is  H_a :  p > 0.20

Generally the sample proportion is mathematically represented as

     \r p  =  \frac{50}{232}

     \r p  =  0.216

Generally the test statistics is mathematically represented as

 =>           t =  \frac{\r p  -  p }{ \sqrt{ \frac{p(1- p )}{n} } }

=>           t =  \frac{ 0.216 - 0.20 }{ \sqrt{ \frac{ 0.20 (1- 0.20 )}{ 232} } }

=>        t =  0.6093

The  p-value obtained from the z-table is

       p-value  =  P(Z >  0.6093) =  0.27116

  Given that the  p-value > \alpha  then we fail to reject the null hypothesis

A six-sided die is loaded in such a way that the probability of each face turning up is proportional to the number of dots on th
agasfer [191]

Answer:

P(2U5) = 7/21 = 1/3

the probability of getting either a 5 or a 2 in one throw is 1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that; the probability of each face turning up is proportional to the number of dots on that face

P(1) = 1×P(1)

P(2) = 2×P(1)

P(3) = 3×P(1)

P(4) = 4×P(1)

P(5) = 5×P(1)

P(6) = 6×P(1)

P(T) = 21×P(1)

Where;

P(x) is the probability of getting number x on the dice.

P(T) is the total probability of obtaining any number

N(x) is the number of possible number x in terms of the distribution function.

P(x) = N(x)/N(T) ....1

And since P(T) is constant, and P(T) is proportional to N(T) then,

P(x) is directly proportional to N(x)

So, equation 1 becomes;

P(x) = N(x)/N(T) = P(x)/P(T) ....2

The probability of getting either a 5 or a 2 in one throw

P(2U5) = (P(2) + P(5))/P(T)

Substituting the values of each probability;

P(2U5) = (2P(1) + 5P(1))/21P(1)

P(2U5) = 7P(1)/21P(1)

P(1) cancel out, to give;

P(2U5) = 7/21 = 1/3

the probability of getting either a 5 or a 2 in one throw is 1/3

Below is a scale drawing of a stage that Syla is designing. A rectangle with length 8 centimeters and width 5 centimeters. Using
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

<h3>50m</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the dimension

Length of the rectangle = 8cm

Width = 5cm

Note that when the scale was 1:7, syla multiplied the width by a factor of 7 i.e 5*7 = 35m

If syla changes the the scale to 1 cm : 10 m for the rectangle, then the width of the shorter side will be multiplied by a factor of 10 due to the change in scale i.e;

5 * 10 = 50m

Hence the width of the new stage will be 50 m
