On Thursday afternoon I left my house and headed to my friend’s house that lives at the opposite end of my street. I was walking

at a leisurely pace when I saw a cute kitten. I stopped for a minute to pet the kitten when all of the sudden it started to rain, so I ran as fast as I could to my friend’s house. I stayed at her house for a while and then ran home just in time for dinner.

On Friday I was going to my friend’s house again. I walked about halfway there when I remembered I forgot to bring my bag. I ran back home to get my bag and then jogged to my friend’s house, where I stayed the night.

On Saturday morning I left my friend’s house to head home. I was halfway home when I realized my shoe was untied. I stopped to tie it and then continued home at the same pace.

Answer:

On Thursday, she was walking at a good pace but then started to run because of the rain and she ran back home because she had to get to dinner so her parents do not get mad.

On Friday, she was walking to her friend's house but then she began to ran because she forgot something and she jogged back from her house to her friend's house cause she was not in a hurry but still wanted to reach her friend's house in time.

On Saturday, she walked at the same pace from her friend's house to her home because there was no rush and nothing was going wrong.

The length of each side of a square was decreased by 2 inches so the perimeter is now 49 inches. What was the original length of
aleksley [76]

The Original length of each side of square was 14.25 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter of a square is given by:

Perimeter = 4 * side

Let x be the original length of each side of square

So

decreasing 2 inch will mean

x-2

Perimeter of square after reducing 2 inches from each side

4(x-2) = 49\\4x-8 = 49\\4x = 49+8\\4x = 57\\\frac{4x}{4} = \frac{57}{4}\\x = 14.25

So,

The Original length of each side of square was 14.25 inches.

0. Juan has been saving for a new bike for two months. So far, he has saved
antiseptic1488 [7]

<u>Given</u>:

Juan has been saving for a new bike for two months. So far, he has saved $150 for the bike.

The money that he has saved so far is 30% of the cost of the bike.

We need to determine the total cost of the bike.

<u>Total cost of the bike:</u>

Let x denote the total cost of the bike.

The total cost of the bike is given by

30\% \ of \ x=150

The value of 30% can be written as \frac{30}{100}

Thus, we get;

\frac{30}{100} \times x=150

Multiplying both sides by \frac{100}{30}, we have;

x=150 \times \frac{100}{30}

Simplifying, we have;

x=\frac{15000}{30}

x=500

Thus, the value of x is 500.

Hence, the total cost of the bike is $500.
