The line VS is middle line of that trapezoid, so you know that it is

VS= (WR+UT)/2

so we will get that it is:

<span>40= (x^2+2 +2x^2+3)/2
x = 5

Therefore,

x^2 + 2
5^2 + 2
25 +2
27 <----- OPTION 2

Hope this answers the question.</span>

An appliance manufacturer claims to have developed a compact microwave oven that consumes a mean of no more than 250 W. From pre
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

Null Hypothesis, H_0 : \mu \leq 250 W

Alternate Hypothesis, H_A : \mu > 250 W

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that an appliance manufacturer claims to have developed a compact microwave oven that consumes a mean of no more than 250 W.

They take a sample of 20 microwave ovens and find that they consume a mean of 257.3 W.

<u><em>Let </em></u>\mu<u><em> = mean power consumption of microwave ovens.</em></u>

So, Null Hypothesis, H_0 : \mu \leq 250 W

Alternate Hypothesis, H_A : \mu > 250 W

Here, <u>null hypothesis states tha</u>t the mean power consumption of microwave ovens is no more than 250 W.

On the other hand, <u>alternate hypothesis sates that</u> the mean power consumption of microwave ovens is more than 250 W.

The test statistics that would be used here is <u>One-sample z test statistics</u> as we know about the population standard deviation;

                       T.S. =  \frac{\bar X-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } }  ~ N(0,1)

Hence, this would be the appropriate hypotheses to determine if the manufacturer's claim appears reasonable.

Which equation represents the line that passes through points (1, –5) and (3, –17)? y = negative 6 x + 1 y = 6 x + 1 y = negativ
Paraphin [41]

Answer:

Using y = mx + c

slope = -17+5/3-1 = -12/2 = -6

Using point (1 , - 5)

y + 5 = -6(x - 1)

y + 5 = - 6x + 6

y = - 6x + 6 - 5

y = - 6x + 1

Hope this helps.

Jocab run 5 miles in 1 1/2 hours. robert runs 3 miles in 45 minutes, or 3/4 hour. who ran the faster
lana [24]

Answer: Robert ran faster than Jocab

Step-by-step explanation:

Convert the improper fraction to a proper fraction

Jocab = 5miles in 1 1/2 hours, therefore, 1 1/2 hours = 3/2 hours, to convert to minute will be 3/2 x 60 = 90 minutes

Robert = 3 miles in 3/4 hours = 45 minutes

If Robert runs 3 miles in 45 minutes, by the end of 90minutes, Robert would have covered 6miles, while Jocab covered 5miles in 90 minutes, therefore, Robert ran faster than Jocab.
