In this image of a pendulum, where is the lowest potential energy found?
uranmaximum [27]

Think about the formula for potential energy. (Surely you remember it):

Potential energy = (mass) x (acceleration of gravity) x (height)

-- The mass on the end of the pendulum doesn't change.

-- The acceleration of gravity doesn't change.

-- The only thing that changes is the height of the mass on the end.

So the potential energy is lowest when its height is the lowest.

That's position B .

Bob weighs 80 pounds. He ran up the steps which rose 14 feet. Fred weighs 110 pounds. He ran up the same steps as Bob. If both b
pav-90 [236]
Bob gained (80lbs x 14ft) = 1120 ft-lbs of energy.

Fred gained (110lbs x 14ft) = 1540 ft-lbs of energy

Since they both took the same amount of time, Fred's power (rate
of doing work) was greater than Bob's power (rate of doing work).

What is the average speed of particles of atoms at room temperature?
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

300 meters per second. That's equal to about 670 miles per hour.

Explanation:

Not only are air particles incredibly small, they are always moving. And they move fast. At room temperature, they are going about 300 meters per second. That's equal to about 670 miles per hour.

If the car were being moved sideways, could you determine the force on the car by using the weight equation
VashaNatasha [74]
No, if the car were moving sideways, then the forces used would be on the horizontal axis. So the weight equation would be extraneous, unless one is determining the net force through an inclined plane
