No, if the car were moving sideways, then the forces used would be on the horizontal axis. So the weight equation would be extraneous, unless one is determining the net force through an inclined plane

A 500g object falls off a cliff and losers 100 J from its gravitational potential energy store. if the gravitational field stren
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer : Height, h = 20.4 m

Explanation :

It is given that,

Mass of an object, m = 500 g = 0.5 kg

Gravitational potential energy, PE = 100 J

The Gravitational potential energy is the energy which is possessed due to the height and gravity of an object. It is given as :

PE = m g h

where,

h is the height of the cliff.

100\ J=0.5\ kg\times 9.8\ m/s^2\times h

h = 20.40 m

So, the height of the cliff is 20.4 m.

Which of these statements is correct about wood and common salt?
morpeh [17]

Answer: Option (C) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Minerals are inorganic substances which have certain characteristic shape or structure along with homogeneous chemical composition.

It is not necessary that a mineral should be formed under the ground.

Substances which have carbon atoms in their structure are called organic compounds. The structure of wood has carbon atoms attached thus, wood is an organic compound.

Therefore, we can conclude that common salt is a mineral because it has a definite crystal structure but wood is not a mineral because it is organic.

(15 points) (Asap!!)
In what two ways can you increase the elastic potential energy of a spring?
adelina 88 [10]
Hello There

Answers: The elastic potential energy can be increased by:

1) Getting a spring with a higher spring constant

2) Increasing the length at which the spring is compressed.

Reasons: Getting a stronger spring makes it stronger which equals more energy. While increasing the compression on the spring, increases the stored energy which makes it more powerful when its released

I hope this helps

A car traveling at 22m/s is in an accident, and the 81 kg driver is brought to a stop in 1.4 s by in inflating airbag. What forc
larisa86 [58]
Here, F = m * a
F = m * v/t
Here, m = 81 Kg
v = 22 m/s
t = 1,4 s

Substitute their values,
F = 81 * 22/1.4
F = 81 * 15.71
F = 1273 N
So, Closest value from your options is 1300 N

In short, Your Answer would be Option B

Hope this helps!
