Rag the pink labels to the pink targets, indicating the relative concentration of glucose inside and outside the cell. drag the

correct white label to the white target, indicating the direction that na+ ions and glucose move through the cotransporter. drag the blue labels to complete the sentences on the right, indicating how na+ ions and glucose move through the cotransporter relative to their electrochemical and concentration gradients.

Attached is the exercise. I found the full scheme on the internet.

For the position "a" the correct label is the pink label with glucose concentration low. This type of cotransportation transports two solutes in the same direction, being one in favour of its gradient, and another one against its gradient. In this case the one that's in favour of its gradient is the Na+, so the glucose is in low concentration outside the cell.
For the position "b" the correct label is the one with the glucose and Na+ entering the cell. This is cotransport, done by the glucose-sodium cotransporter.
For the position "c" the correct label is the pink label with glucose concentration high. This type of cotransportation transports two solutes in the same direction, being one in favour of its gradient, and another one against its gradient. In this case the one that's in favour of its gradient is the Na+, so the glucose is in high concentration inside the cell.
For sentence "1." the correct term is "down". Because the Na+ concentration is higher on the outside of the cell, the Na+ moves down its electrochemical gradient.
For sentence "2." the correct term is "against" for the reasons explained above.

What is a non-native species?
Lapatulllka [165]

Answer:

on-native species can become such a common part of an environment, culture, and even diet that little thought is given to their geographic origin. For example, soybeans, kiwi fruit, wheat, honey bees, and all livestock except the American bison and the turkey are non-native species to North America.

if an unknown substance found on a meteorite contains no trace of carbon can scientist conclude that there is life at the meteor
MakcuM [25]

The scientists rely on the following cues to hypothesise and test for the presence of life on various extraterrestrial bodies:

1. Presence of water

2. Presence of hydrocarbons

3. Presence of carbon

4. Presence of salt pans

The presence of hydrocarbons may indicate that there's anaerobic life thriving beneath the surface of the meteorite. The presence of traces of carbon may indicate that there was life once thriving on its surface ( which however is not possible in case of a meteorite because of its size). The absence of any of the above listed items will indicate that the surface of the meteorite is devoid of any life.
