How do you solve the following system of equations by eliminating the y-values? I've already solved it by eliminating the x-valu

es so I know the answer is (-9/2, -10) but I'm having trouble getting that answer by eliminating the y-values.

6 0

Step-by-step explanation:

The coefficients of the y terms are -3 and 2.  The least common multiple of 3 and 2 is 6.  So multiply the first equation by 2 and the second equation by 3, so that the y terms have a coefficient of 6.

4x − 6y = 42

-18x + 6y = 21

The signs are opposite, so add the equations together.

-14x = 63

x = -9/2

Select the equation that is the inverse of the given function.
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

  • f^-1(x) = 5x + 3

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given function</u>

  • f(x) = (x  - 3)/5

<u>Its inverse is</u>

  • x = (f^-1(x) - 3)/5
  • 5x = f^-1(x) - 3
  • f^-1(x) = 5x + 3

The second option is correct

Help me understand this question!
Ivan

Answer:

AB = 24, BC = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, the length be a and breadth be b.

So, 2(a + b) = 60  => a + b = 30

(PQR) and (ABC) are similar.

So, a/8 = b/2

     2a = 8b

     2(30 - b) = 8b

     60 - 2b = 8b

     10b = 60

     b = 6

So, a = 24
