How do you solve the following system of equations by eliminating the y-values? I've already solved it by eliminating the x-valu

es so I know the answer is (-9/2, -10) but I'm having trouble getting that answer by eliminating the y-values.

6 0

Step-by-step explanation:

The coefficients of the y terms are -3 and 2. The least common multiple of 3 and 2 is 6. So multiply the first equation by 2 and the second equation by 3, so that the y terms have a coefficient of 6.

4x − 6y = 42

-18x + 6y = 21

The signs are opposite, so add the equations together.

-14x = 63

x = -9/2

|2x+1|-14=9 solve the absolute equation
sergey [27]
You can add 14 to the 9 to get pith of the problem so you'd be left with |2x+1| = 23 then it comes it quite obvious that X=11 because 2 times 11 plus 1 equals 23

At the beginning of the school year, Jamie had $500 in her savings account. She wants to have at least $200 left in the account
mario62 [17]

Answer:

Jamie should have reversed the inequality when using the division property of inequality.

Step-by-step explanation:

Jamie wrote

500 − 30x ≥ 200

Subtract 500 from both sides

500-500-30x ≥ 200-500

-30x ≥ -300

Divide both sides by -30

x ≥ 10

Instead of reversing the inequality when using the division property of inequality

500 − 30x ≥ 200

Subtract 500 from both sides

500-500-30x ≥ 200-500

-30x ≥ -300

Divide both sides by -30

x <or= 10

While this ratio changes over time, 1 Euro is currently valued at 1.21 U.S. Dollars. Use proportions to find the cost in U.S. Do
kompoz [17]

Answer:

48.14= $58.25

$97.92= 81.27 euro

Step-by-step explanation:

Giving the following information:

1 Euro is currently valued at 1.21 U.S. Dollars.

First, we need to calculate the dollar value of 48.14 euros.

Proportion equation used for answer below: 1e= 1.21d

48.14*1.21= $58.25

Now, the euro value of 97.72 dollars.

Proportion equation used for answer below: (1:1.21) 0.83

1 dollar equals 0.83 euro.

97.92*0.83= 81.27 euro
