Let the width be w

Width = w
Length = w + 6
Area = a

a = w(w + 6)
a = w² + 6w

Answer: a = w² + 6w

Can somebody please give me a detailed answer
Serjik [45]
Lets go ahead and calculate the area of each side; added together, this will give us the full surface area. First the base, which is 9 by 9 and a square. This means its area is 9*9, which equals 81. Next the triangles, which are all the same, so we only have to do it once and then add it 4 times at the end. The area of a triangle is (1/2)bh, so (1/2)(9)(7) = 31.5.

Finally, we just need to add the areas up.
81 + 31.5 + 31.5 + 31.5 + 31.5 = 81 + 4(31.5)
81 + 126 = 207 units^2

Lady_Fox [76]

Answer:

Pipe Q

Step-by-step explanation:

Two pipes p and Q fill a water tank. Each pipe fills the tank with water at a constant rate. Pipe P fills the tank with 20 gallons of water in 4 minutes. The equation in equals n = 6t shows the number of gallons of water n with which pipe Q fills the tank in t minutes. Which pipe fills the tank with more water each minute and by how much

Solution:

Pipe P fills the tank with 20 gallons of water in 4 minutes. If n represent the number of gallons of water that fills the tank in t minutes, then for pipe P:

n = 20 gallons / 4 minutes *t

n = 5t

Also, the number of gallons of water that fills the tank in t minutes for pipe Q is given by:

n = 6t

Since the rate at which pipe Q fills the tank (i.e. 6t) is greater than the rate at which pie P fills the tank (i.e. 5t), hence Pipe P  fills the tank with more water each minute by 6 gallons while pipe P fills by 5 gallons each minute.

A manager needs to order company shirts for each employee. She was quoted the following rates. If she orders 75 shirts and passe
docker41 [41]
The answer is B.$7.47.

Let's first calculate how much in total 75 shirts cost:
- first 19 (less than 20) cost $10:         19 * $10 = $190
- the next 30 cost $8:                         30 *  $8 = $240
- the rest (26 = 75 - 19 - 30) cost $5: 26 *  $5 = $130

So, in total 75 shirts cost $560:
19 * $10 + 30 * $8 + 21 * $5 = $190 + $240 + $130 = $560

Since 75 shirts are ordered, there must be 75 employees, so each employee must pay $7.47:
$565 ÷ 75 = $7.47
