Hi!

<u>Answer: 1ml of NaOH and 49 ml of Water</u>

Concentration of NaOH to make: 0.001 M ( C1 )

Volume of NaOH to make: 50 ml ( V1 )

Concentration of NaOH in stock: 0.05 M ( C2 )

Volume of stock to use: V2

Using the formula C1 V1 = C2 V2 which is the standard formula for determining the dilutions to acquire a specified volume and concentration, we get:

0.001 M x 50 ml = 0.05 M x V2

V2 = 1 ml

<em>So using 1ml of 0.05 M NaOH and 49 ml of Water</em>

What is the average isotope mass?
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

the atomic mass of an element is the average mass of the atoms of an element measured in atomic mass unit (amu, also known as daltons, D). The atomic mass is a weighted average of all of the isotopes of that element, in which the mass of each isotope is multiplied by the abundance of that particular isotope

Explanation:

Average atomic mass = f1M1 + f2M2 + … + fnMn where f is the fraction representing the natural abundance of the isotope and M is the mass number (weight) of the isotope. The average atomic mass of an element can be found on the periodic table, typically under the elemental symbol.

The decomposition of ethylene oxide(CH₂)₂O(g) → CH₄(g) + CO(g)is a first order reaction with a half-life of 58.0 min at 652 K. T
olga55 [171]

Answer:

Half-life at 629K = 252.4min

Explanation:

Using Arrhenius equation:

ln\frac{K_1}{K_2}  = \frac{Ea}{R} (\frac{1}{T_2} -\frac{1}{T_1})

And as Half-life in a first order reaction is:

t_{1/2}=\frac{ln2}{K}

We can convert the half-life of 58.0min to know K₁ adn replacing in Arrhenius equation find half-life at 629K:

58.0min=\frac{ln2}{K}

K = 0.01195min⁻¹ = K₁

ln\frac{0.01195min^{-1}}{K_2}  = \frac{218kJ/mol}{8.314x10^{-3}kJ/molK} (\frac{1}{629K} -\frac{1}{652K})

ln\frac{0.01195min^{-1}}{K_2}  =1.47

\frac{0.01195min^{-1}}{K_2}  =4.35

K₂ = 2.75x10⁻³ min⁻¹

And, replacing again in Half-life expression:

t_{1/2}=\frac{ln2}{2.75x10^{-3}min^{-1}}

<h3>Half-life at 629K = 252.4min</h3>
