Answer:

The bond line notation of 1-Ethyl-4-isopropylcyclooctane is attached below in Figure 1.

Explanation:

In organic chemistry the structures of organic compounds are represented in many ways.

                 i) Condensed Formula: In this type of representation the structure of organic compound is represented in a text based manner. Each carbon atom is shown separately with other atoms attached to it.

Example: Butyric Acid is represented as CH₃CH₂CH₂COOH

ii) Displayed Formula: In this representation all atoms are shown along with the bonds joining them.

Example: Butyric Acid is represented as shown in attached figure 2.

iii) Structural Formula: This formula is same as displayed formula but in this method carbon and hydrogen are simplified to condensed form and the bonds between carbon atoms are shown.

Example: Butyric Acid is represented as shown in attached figure 2.

iii) Skeletal Formula or Bond Line Notation method: In this method most of the hydrogen atoms are not shown. Each line ending and vertices represents carbon atoms. This is the easiest and common way of drawing organic compounds.

Example: Butyric Acid is represented as shown in attached figure 2.

Chemical equations are balanced by changing the subscripts of the molecules.
AnnZ [28]
The correct answer is false. Chemical equations are balanced not by changing the subscripts of the molecules instead by changing the coefficients of each molecule. However, the subscripts are helpful in balancing equations because they are used in counting the number of atoms or molecules.
