Create equations:
10X+15y=2575.
X+Y=210.
Solve for X: X=210-Y, and sub it into the other equation: 10(210-Y)+15Y=2575. Solve for Y: 2,100-10y+15y=2575, 5y=475, y=95.
Sub Y into the original problem: X+95=210. Solve: X=115.
The first mechanic charges $115 per hour and the second charges $95 :)

You can use 2 equations for this. let's use x to stand for 10 hour mechanic rate and y for 15 hour mechanic rate. So for first equation we know the total amount of money made was 2575. we also know that each mechanic charged 10x (10 hours times his pay rate) and 15y (15 hours times other payrate). So:
10x + 15y = 2575

we also know that the 2 rates added together equals 210. this means:
x + y = 210

we can actually solve for x or t on this second one easily:
x= 210 - y. Or y = 210 - x

I'm going to use the x= 210 - y but you could use the other one.

since I know what x equals I can actually substitute it in on the first equation like so:
10 * (210 - y) + 15y = 2575

notice how I combined the 2 equations
2100 - 10y + 15y = 2575

move the 2100 to other side by subtracting and combine y' s
5y = 475
y = 95

So so we know the 15 hour employee charged $95 an hour. we can plug this into second equation and find other wage. like this:
x = 210 - 95
x = 115

So this 1st guy made $115 an hour

What is 9+9(2+4)÷3-2 equal
lesantik [10]
First, we must follow PEMDAS. (Parenthesis, exponents, division, multiplication, addition, and subtraction.).

We do what's in the parenthesis first.

9+9(2+4)÷3-2.

2+4=6.

Now our problem looks like this;

9+9(6)÷3-2
OR
9+9×6÷3-2.

Anything in a parenthesis with no sign next to it, like this; 8(2), just means multiplication, so it would look like this: 8×2.

Next, we do all the multiplication in our problem.

9+9×6÷3-2.

9×6=54.

Now our problem looks like this;

9+54÷3-2.

Next, we do the division.

9+54÷3-2

54÷3=18.

Now our problem looks like this;

9+18-2.

Next, we do the addition.

9+18-2

9+18=27

Now it looks like this;

27-2.

Finally, we subtract.

27-2=25.

Your final answer is 25!

Have a nice day! :)

Use Ohm’s law to find the resistance of the light bulb if you had a 20 volt battery and 0.57 amps of current. Show your work for
aleksley [76]
For this case we have the following equation:
V = I * R
Where,
V: voltage
I: current
R: resistance
By clearing R we have:
R = V / I
Substituting the values:
R = (20) / (0.57)
R = 35.09 Ohms
Answer:

The resistance of the light bulb is:

R = 35.09 Ohms

The solution to the algebraic equation, −0.4x − 3.1 = 5.9, is: x = -22.5

Given the algebraic equation, −0.4x−3.1 = 5.9, to solve for x, follow the steps below:

−0.4x − 3.1 = 5.9

 • Add 3.1 to both sides

−0.4x − 3.1 + 3.1 = 5.9 + 3.1

-0.4x = 9

 • Divide both sides by -0.4

-0.4x/-0.4 = 9/-0.4

x = -22.5

Therefore, the solution to the algebraic equation, −0.4x − 3.1 = 5.9, is: x = -22.5
