Answer:

V = 24.7 L

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of ethylene = 15.0 g

Temperature = 25°C (25+273 = 298 K)

Pressure = 100 KPa ( 100/101 = 0.99 atm)

Volume of water produced = ?

Solution:

Chemical equation:

C₂H₄ + 3O₂  →  2CO₂ + 2H₂O

Number of moles of ethylene:

Number of moles = mass / molar mass

Number of moles = 15.0 g/ 28.05 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.5 mol

Now we will compare the moles of ethylene with water.

             C₂H₄           :               H₂O

               1                :                  2

               0.5           :               2/1×0.5 = 1 mol

Volume of water:

PV = nRT

V = nRT/P

V = 1 mol × 0.0821 atm. L/mol.K ×298 K / 0.99 atm

V = 24.5 atm.L /0.99 atm

V = 24.7 L

Mercury(II) oxide (HgO) decomposes to form mercury (Hg) and oxygen (O2). The balanced chemical equation is shown below.
zavuch27 [327]

15.63 mol. You need 15.63 mol HgO to produce 250.0 g O_2.

Step 1. Convert grams of O_2 to moles of O_2

Moles of O_2 = 250.0 g O_2 × (1 mol O_2/32.00 g O_2) = 7.8125 mol O_2

Step 2. Use the molar ratio of HgO:O_2 to convert moles of O_2 to moles of HgO

Moles of HgO = 0.8885 mol O_2 × (2 mol HgO/1 mol O_2) = 15.63 mol HgO

Calculate the lattice energy for NaF (s) given the following
san4es73 [151]

Answer: E

Explanation:

The lattice energy is the energy change when one mole of a crystal is formed from its components ions in its gaseous sate

Therefore lattice energy = heat of Sublimation+ ionization energy +electron affinity-(heat of formation)

Therefore lattice Energy =     109 +495 -328 +570.

Lattice energy = --923kjmol-1
