Mathematics

4a.  13 out of 8,000 is about 1 in 600, so that is about the probability that the next one will be defective.
4b.  1 in 600 is a lot less than 1%, so the manufacturer did reach his goal.

By the way, ithink the one above these might be wrong.  i think you have calculated the probability of the next one being chipped, rather than ofthe next one, not being chipped. So I am guessing that the answer ofr that one should be 24/25.

Tanzania [10]

Answer:

c = 160 - 3(45)

Step-by-step explanation:

if c = the number of characters left;

160 = maximum number of characters that can be used in a text

3*45 = number of characters in sentences already used. (There are 3 sentences of 45 characters.)

(# of char left) = (max # char) - (# char already used) so:

c = 160 - 3*(45)

c = 160 - 135

c = 25

GrogVix [38]

Answer: B. 3 3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, we are told that Joanna is making a recipe that uses 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt for every 2 cups of sugar. Since, uses 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt for every 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of sugar will use 1/2 of 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt. This will be:

= 1/2 × 1 1/2

= 1/2 × 3/2

= 3/4 teaspoon of salt.

We then multiply the value used for a cup of sugar by 5 since Joanna increases the recipe to use 5 cups of sugar. This will be:

= 3/4 × 5

= 15/4

= 3 3/4
