Answer:

x=20

Explanation to Answer:

Use distributive property for the first step. Meaning you multiply the 0.1 by the x and 80. You will now get 0.1x+8+0.2x=14.

For the second step, collect like-terms. Add the 0.2x to the 0.1x and you should 0.3x+8=14.

For the third step, move the constant to the right. Subtract the 8 by itself and it will cancel out. Subtract the 14 by 8 and you will get 6. Your new equation should be 0.3x=6.

Divide both sides by 0.3. Just like in the third step with 8, 0.3 will cancel itself. When divide 6 by 0.3, you will get your answer, x=20.

You're welcome, and I hope this helps!

Solve for x: 2(x + 3)2 − 4 = 0
asambeis [7]

Answer:

Option D) x = −4.41, −1.59

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following expression in the question:

2(x + 3)^2 - 4 = 0

Solving the above expression, we get:

2(x + 3)^2 - 4 = 0\\2(x^2+9+6x)-4=0\\\text{Identity: }(a+b)^2 = a^2 + b^2 + 2ab\\2x^2+18+12x-4=0\\2x^2+12x+14=0\\\text{Using the quadratic formula:}\\ax^2 + bx +_ c = 0\\\\x = \displaystyle\frac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\\\\\text{Puting a = 2, b = 12, c = 14}\\\\x = \displaystyle\frac{-12\pm \sqrt{(12)^2-4(2)(14)}}{2(2)}\\\\x = \frac{-12 \pm 5.65}{4}\\\\x = \frac{-12 + 5.65}{4}, \frac{-12-5.65}{4} = -1.5875, -4.4125 \approx -1.59, -4.14

dan rented a truck for one day. there was a base fee of $15.88, and there was an additional charge if 78 cents for each mile dri
Pie

Answer:

297 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

cost = 0.78 cents per mile + base fee

y = 0.78x + 15.88

247.65 = 0.78x + 15.88

subtract 15.88 from both sides

231.77 = 0.78x

divide by 0.78 on both sides

x = 297.14120256

297 miles

= 45°

x = 45° - 16°
x = 29°

y = 45° + 16°
y = 61°

61° and 29° i guess.

45 POINTS AND BRANLIEST!!!
Marysya12 [62]
PART A:

The x-intercept at 0 shows the location where the ball was kicked. The x-intercept at x = 16 shows the location where the ball hit the ground.

The maximum value represents the highest point of the ball.

The interval where the function is increasing is 0<x<8. Between this interval, the height of the ball measured from the ground is increasing.
The interval where the function is decreasing is 0<x<16. Between this interval, the height of the ball is decreasing.

PART B:

Reading from the graph

When x = 8, y = 10 ⇒ let this be x₁ = 8 and y₁ = 10
When x = 13, y = 6 ⇒ let this be x₂ = 13 and y₂ = 6

The rate of change = (y₂-y₁) / (x₂-x₁)
The rate of change = (6 - 10) / (13 - 8)
The rate of change = -4 / 5 = -(4/5)
