Do the parentheses first (3 - 4 ) then in this case 6 - 2

((3 - 4)) = -1 (Since this equal a negative number we will take this out0

6 - 2 = 4

the we change the subtraction ( - ) symbol to a(n)  addition ( + ) symbol for the one in 6 - 2

So, it becomes 6 + (2)
Because you had to divide ( ÷ ) and multiply ( × ) on the both of your sides.. }{from the leftside to the rightside}

Then  6 + 2  = 8

This can be your explaination ↑

Given that 2^x = 7, find the value of 4^x-1.
Helga [31]

4=2^2\\\\4^x=(2^2)^x=(2^x)^2=7^2=49\\\\4^x-1=49-1=48

If\ is\ 4^{x-1},\ then\\\\4^{x-1}=\dfrac{4^x}{4}=\dfrac{49}{4}=12\frac{1}{4}

Used:\\\dfrac{a^n}{a^m}=a^{n-m}

−5y+3x=3<br> −8y+9x=−12<br> <br> What is X and Y please.
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

( -4, -3 )

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's solve by elimination. Reason being there are no variables without coefficients.

−5y+3x=3     Multiply equation by 3. Each term.

−8y+9x=−12

-15y + 9x = 9       Subtract the to equations

-8y  + 9x = -12

___________

-7y = 21

y = -3

Substitute y into original equation

-5(-3) + 3x = 3

15 + 3x = 3            Subtract 15 both sides

3x = -12                 Divide by 3, both sides

x = -4
