So a scale drawing of a school bus has a scale of 12 inch to 5 feet. If the length of the school bus is 412 inches on the scale

drawing. I need to know the actual length of the bus and I need to explain or show my reasoning too.

So since the scale is 12 inches:5 feet, we have to divide 412 inches by 12 inches because 412 inches is the total length drawn on the scale drawing.

412/12 = 34.3

Then since each 12 inches equals 5 feet and we have 34.3 12x inches. We are just going to multiply 34.3 by 5.

34.3*5 = 171 and 2/3 feet is your actual length of the bus
