Eye color in most mammals is dependent on the number of inherited pigment genes (melanin) that are additive in their effects. If

an uppercase letter contributes pigment but a lowercase does not, what would be expected in the progeny when a person with with genotype AaBB plans to procreate with genotype Aabb, The five possible colors are: Brown (4 pigment genes) > Hazel (3 pigment genes) > Green (2 pigment genes)> blue (1 pigment gene) > no pigment (absence of melanin is often seen as red).

Answer:

Hazel - 1/4 or 25%

Green - 1/2 or 50%

Blue - 1/4 or 25%

Explanation:

First, let us carry out the cross between AaBB and Aabb using a Punnet's square. The result is as below:

AABb - 4/16

AaBb - 8/16

aaBb - 4/16

(See the Punnet's square analysis in the attached image).

AABb genotype has 3 pigments, hence, would be hazel.

AaBb genotype has 2 pigments, hence, would be green.

aaBb has one pigment, hence, would be blue.

Expected progeny:

Hazel - 1/4 or 25%

Green - 1/2 or 50%

Blue - 1/4 or 25%

What two functinol groups do amnio acids share
dmitriy555 [2]

Answer: Amino acids are organic compounds (molecules) that contain amine (–NH2) and carboxyl (–COOH) functional groups, along with a side chain (R group) specific to each amino acid.

Explanation: The variation seen in naturally occurring amino acids arises from differences in this side chain.

Help weed this question pls
erik [133]

Answer:

.92 A = Is

Explanation:

Is = \frac{Vp *Ip }{Vs}

We're solving for Is, so plug in all the other given numbers.

Vp = 230 V

Ip = .020 A

Vs = 5.0 V

Is = \frac{230 * .020}{5.0}

 = .92 A

How do the unsaturated fatty acids in phospholipids affect the structure of cell membranes?
ludmilkaskok [199]

Unsaturated fatty acids are a component of the phospholipids in cell membranes and help maintain membrane fluidity. The Phospholipids contain a variety of unsaturated fatty acids, when compressed, the “kinks” in their tails push adjacent phospholipid molecules away, that helps in maintain fluidity in the membrane. Unsaturated fatty acids have at least one double bond, creating a "kink" in the chain, the absence of double bonds decreases fluidity, making the membrane very strong and stacked tightly.

The ratio of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids determines the fluidity in the membrane at a temperature, at appropriate temperatures the phospholipids have enough kinetic energy to overcome the intermolecular forces holding the membrane together, which increases membrane fluidity.
