It would be because it does not give indacation in which the "last would end." For it to be a non infinitive phrase, it would be like this: To make it last 2 more days. Hope this helped! Have a great day!

It is not because an infinitive phrase is to + a simplified verb. The infinitive phrase is "to make" not "to make it last"
