Mecca and Medina are the two significant holy sites in the middle east

Explanation:

Mecca which is also known as Makkah is an important place of pilgrimage of every Muslim and it is a sacred journey taken up every year by a Muslim. It is the natal abode of Prophet Muhammad and it is the place where the holy book was written. People from all parts of the world visit the Kaaba. On the day of Arafa, people tend to fast in order to erase the past sins which they have committed in the past years.  

Medina is the second significant holy situated in which the mausoleum of Prophet Muhammad is found. According to the Islamic calendar, Median is important and that particular day in which the prophet and his followers entered the city is considered holy.
