Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Factor the numerators/ denominators where possible

x² + 7x + 10 = (x+ 2)(x + 5)

x² - 3x - 18 = (x - 6)(x + 3)

x² + x - 2 = (x + 2)(x - 1)

Hence

= \frac{(x+2)(x+5)}{x+3} × \frac{(x-6)(x+3)}{(x+2)(x-1)}

Cancel the factors (x + 2) and (x + 3) on numerator/denominator

= \frac{(x+5)(x-6)}{x-1} ← in simplest form

The denominator of the product cannot be zero as this would make it undefined. Equating the denominator to zero and solving gives the value that x cannot be.

solve x - 1 = 0 ⇒ x = 1 ← restricted value

Karla sold a bicycle on e-store for $97.50. this selling price represented a 30% profit for her, based on what she had originall
kotykmax [81]
  x + 30% x = 97.5 $

x+ 0.3 x = 97.5

x(1+0.3) = 97.5

1.3 x =   97.5

x= 97.5/ 1.3=  75 $  its original price

Which of the following is a solution of the system
Aleks [24]

Answer:

Answer B

Step-by-step explanation:

1.  (1, -4) is NOT a solution because (1) - 2(-4) < 4 is false.

2.  (-8, 2):  -8 - 2(2) < 4 is true, and in simplified form is -12 < 4 (true)  We must check whether this point (-8, 2) ALSO satisfies y > -2x - 5:

2 > -2(-8) - 5.  Yes, this is true, so the given point satisfies both inequalities in Answer B.
