the networking organization you joined is throwing a party. you are in charge of buying the chips, which cost $2.50 per bag and

salsa, which costs $4 per jar. the chips & salsa budget you are given totals $60. the inequality 2.5x 4y less than or equal to 60 represents the possible combinations of chips (x) and salsa (y) you can buy. which of the following does not represent a solution to the inequality? 10 bags of chips and 2 jars of salsa 20 bags of chips and 2 jars of salsa 14 bags of chips and 5 jars of salsa 18 bags of chips and 6 jars of salsa

2.5x + 4y < = 60

its just a matter of subbing in ur answer choices and see which one does not work.

2.5(18) + 4(6) < = 60
45 + 24 < = 60
69 < = 60...incorrect

so the one that does not work is : 18 bags of chips and 6 jars of salsa

Describe the steps required to determine the equation of a quadratic function given its zeros and a point.
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

Procedure:

1) Form a system of 3 linear equations based on the two zeroes and a point.

2) Solve the resulting system by analytical methods.

3) Substitute all coefficients.

Step-by-step explanation:

A quadratic function is a polynomial of the form:

y = a\cdot x^{2}+b\cdot x + c (1)

Where:

x - Independent variable.

y - Dependent variable.

a, b, c - Coefficients.

A value of x is a zero of the quadratic function if and only if y = 0. By Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, quadratic functions with real coefficients may have two real solutions. We know the following three points: A(x,y) = (r_{1}, 0), B(x,y) = (r_{2},0) and C(x,y) = (x,y)

Based on such information, we form the following system of linear equations:

a\cdot r_{1}^{2}+b\cdot r_{1} + c = 0 (2)

a\cdot r_{2}^{2}+b\cdot r_{2} + c = 0 (3)

a\cdot x^{2} + b\cdot x + c = y (4)

There are several forms of solving the system of equations. We decide to solve for all coefficients by determinants:

a = \frac{\left|\begin{array}{ccc}0&r_{1}&1\\0&r_{2}&1\\y&x&1\end{array}\right| }{\left|\begin{array}{ccc}r_{1}^{2}&r_{1}&1\\r_{2}^{2}&r_{2}&1\\x^{2}&x&1\end{array}\right| }

a = \frac{y\cdot r_{1}-y\cdot r_{2}}{r_{1}^{2}\cdot r_{2}+r_{2}^{2}\cdot x+x^{2}\cdot r_{1}-x^{2}\cdot r_{2}-r_{2}^{2}\cdot r_{1}-r_{1}^{2}\cdot x}

a = \frac{y\cdot (r_{1}-r_{2})}{r_{1}^{2}\cdot r_{2}+r_{2}^{2}\cdot x +x^{2}\cdot r_{1}-x^{2}\cdot r_{2}-r_{2}^{2}\cdot r_{1}-r_{1}^{2}\cdot x}

b = \frac{\left|\begin{array}{ccc}r_{1}^{2}&0&1\\r_{2}^{2}&0&1\\x^{2}&y&1\end{array}\right| }{\left|\begin{array}{ccc}r_{1}^{2}&r_{1}&1\\r_{2}^{2}&r_{2}&1\\x^{2}&x&1\end{array}\right| }

b = \frac{(r_{2}^{2}-r_{1}^{2})\cdot y}{r_{1}^{2}\cdot r_{2}+r_{2}^{2}\cdot x +x^{2}\cdot r_{1}-x^{2}\cdot r_{2}-r_{2}^{2}\cdot r_{1}-r_{1}^{2}\cdot x}

c = \frac{\left|\begin{array}{ccc}r_{1}^{2}&r_{1}&0\\r_{2}^{2}&r_{2}&0\\x^{2}&x&y\end{array}\right| }{\left|\begin{array}{ccc}r_{1}^{2}&r_{1}&1\\r_{2}^{2}&r_{2}&1\\x^{2}&x&1\end{array}\right| }

c = \frac{(r_{1}^{2}\cdot r_{2}-r_{2}^{2}\cdot r_{1})\cdot y}{r_{1}^{2}\cdot r_{2}+r_{2}^{2}\cdot x + x^{2}\cdot r_{1}-x^{2}\cdot r_{2}-r_{2}^{2}\cdot r_{1}-r_{1}^{2}\cdot x}

And finally we obtain the equation of the quadratic function given two zeroes and a point.

The function f(x) = 4x + 5,000 represents the amount of money a television is being sold for, where x is the number of televisio
zalisa [80]

Answer:

The opción b

Step-by-step explanation:

the profit is defined by

Profit=Gain-cost

In this case (F-g)(100)= is the profit to sell 100 television and is calculated

F(x)-g(x)=4x+5000-(20x-500)=4x-20x+5000+500=-16x+5500=-16*(100)+5500=3900

3900=3.9k

What is the equation of the line in slope-intercept form?
Nookie1986 [14]

Answer:

y = 2.5x + 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope intercept form is y = mx + b, where m is the gradient or slope and b is the y-intercept.

To find the gradient/slope (m), we need to do change in y ÷ change in x.

  1. Pick two co-ordinates on the line; (0, 5) and (-2, 0)
  2. Subtract the y co-ordinates; 5 - 0 = 5
  3. Subtract the x-co-ordinates; 0 - -2 = 2
  4. Finally, divide 5 by 2; 5 ÷ 2 = 5/2 or 2.5

Now we have y = 2.5x + b. The y-intercept is simply where the line crosses the y axis (it crosses at 0,5). This means the equation of the line is y = 2.5x + 5.

Hope this helps!
