Answer:

Crossing over

Explanation:

Meiosis a type of cell division which produce daughter cells with different genetic material compared to parent cell.

This difference in the genetic material in the daughter cells is the result of a phenomenon called recombination which takes place during the pachytene of prophase I.

The synaptonemal complex is formed during pachytene which allows the crossing over or recombination or exchange between the homologous chromosomes. This process introduces genetic variation in the population.

Thus, Crossing over is the correct answer.

Adenine in DNA is complementary to
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

DNA is also called deoxyribonucleic acid which is made up of two chains which wind around each other to form a double helix model. The 2 DNA strands are also called polynucleotides and they are made up of monomeric units known as nucleotides. These nucleotides are made up of one of four nitrogen-containing nucleobases: cytosine, guanine, adenine and thymine, a phosphate group, and sugar known as deoxyribose.

Nitrogen bases present on the two separate polynucleotides strands are bound together with the help of base pairing (such as adenine with Thymine) and with hydrogen bonds to form double-stranded DNA.

So, adenine in DNA is complementary to thymine.

Describe the function of sodium and potassium in the generation of an action<br> potential.
larisa [96]

Answer:

The inward flow of sodium ions increases the concentration of positively charged cations in the cell and causes depolarization, where the potential of the cell is higher than the cell's resting potential. The sodium channels close at the peak of the action potential, while potassium continues to leave the cell.
