Hm ok, so the answer here would be 9/40

Kinda big right? Heres my reasoning:

To find the answer when the denominators and different, you cross multiply using each of the bottom numbers like this:

\frac{5}{5} \frac{*}{*} \frac{5}{8}=\frac{25}{40}  \\\\\frac{8}{8} \frac{*}{*} \frac{2}{5} =\frac{16}{40}

Then we subtract 16 from 25 to get 9.

I would like to simplify, but 40 and 9 don't have any common denominators unfortunately.

<h3>Now if you have anymore questions, Please make sure to Like, Comment, and Rate this answer! Also, make sure to send me a Friend request. I'm always up for a Challenge!</h3><h2>Thanks!</h2>

ps. could you please mark me Brainlyest? I kinda need it to maintain and reach my next rank... thx

Regina, Phil, and Joseph each wrote expressions to represent their hourly earnings for an after-school job where h represents th
Vladimir79 [104]

Answer:

Disagree

On weeks when Joseph works extra 2/3 hours more than Phil, Phil and Joseph can earn the same amount of money

Step-by-step explanation:

The given expression for the hourly earnings of Regina, Phil and Joseph are as follows;

Regina: 6.50·h + 16

Phil: 3·(2.5·H + 5)

Joseph: 7.50·h + 10

The number of hours worked = h

The hourly earnings for Phil equated to the hourly earnings of Joseph gives;

3·(2.5·H + 5) = 7.50·h + 10

Simplifying we get;

3 × 2.5·h + 3 × 5 = 7.50·h + 10

7.5·h + 15 = 7.50·h + 10

Which gives

15 =  10 + 5 = 10 which is not correct.

Therefore, when both Phil and Joseph works the same number of hours, in the week, Phil will earn 5 units more Joseph

However, we have that, where Joseph works extra 5/7.5 or 2/3 hours more than Phil, every week, they will earn the same amount of money every week.

Therefore, it is possible for Phil and Joseph to earn the same amount of money when Joseph works extra 2/3 hours more than Phil which gives;

On weeks when Joseph works extra 2/3 hours more than Phil, Phil and Joseph can earn the same amount of money.

Jeannine needs to decide what size to make a rectangular
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

Total number of possible combinations are 6

Length   width

23 dm     2m

21 dm       4 dm

19 dm       6 dm

17 dm         8 dm

15 dm         10 dm

13 dm          12 dm

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Perimeter of rectangular garden=50 dm

Width is  even number.

Length is always longer than or equal to width.

Let length of rectangular garden=x

Width of  rectangular garden=y

We have to find the possible  number of combinations .

Perimeter of rectangular garden=2(x+y)

2(x+y)=50

x+y=50/2

x+y=25

If y=2 dm

x=25-2=23 dm

If y=4 dm

x=25-4=21 dm

If y=6 dm

x=25-6=19 dm

If y=8 dm

x=25-8=17 dm

If y=10 dm

x=25-10=15 dm

If y=12 dm

x=25-12=13 dm

If y=14 dm

x=25-14=11 dm

x<y

It is  not possible

Then, possible combinations are 6

Length   width

23 dm     2m

21 dm       4 dm

19 dm       6 dm

17 dm         8 dm

15 dm         10 dm

13 dm          12 dm

The ratio of red cars to blue cars in a parking lot was 8 : 7. If there were 48 red cars, how many blue cars were there?
shutvik [7]
What you need to do is multiply both sides by the same number. If 8 times 6 is 48, then 7 times 6 is your answer.

300 ml over 15 min is what rate of ml per hour
Mama L [17]

Answer:

1200 ml per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

To compute what rate is 300 ml over 15 mins as a rate of ml per hour, we do a rule of 3, using a variable x as that amount of ml we don't know yet. We should have everything in the same units, so instead of writing 1 hour we write 60 minutes:

\frac{300~ml}{15~min}=\frac{x~ml}{60~mins}

Now we solve for x:

\frac{300~ml}{15~min}\cdot 60~mins=x~ml

\frac{18000~ml}{15} =x~ml

1200~ml =x~ml

And so, now that we know the value of x, the rate we wanted to find is

\frac{1200~ml}{60~mins}

Which is just 1200 ml per hour.

Order of operations is a set of rules that allow mathematicians to get the same value from a given expression.
Volgvan

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation: 4^2 - 8 / (1+3) x 5 = 4^2 - 8 / 4 x 5 = 16 - 8 / 4 x 5 = 16 - 2 x 5 = 16 - 10 = 6
