Explanation:

A mixture in which solute particles are not able to distribute evenly into the solvent is known as a heterogeneous solution.

A solution in which solute particles evenly spread into the solvent is known as a homogeneous solution. It is clear in nature and also simply known as solution.

And, a suspension is defined as a heterogeneous mixture where solute-like particles tend to settle out of the solvent-like phase sometime later their introduction into the solvent.

  • Water + benzoic acid: As water is a polar solvent and benzoic acid is a non-polar substance so, it will not dissolve in water. Hence, it will remain as a separate layer. Therefore, it is a suspension.
  • Water + sodium chloride: As water is a polar solvent and sodium chloride is an ionic compound that will readily dissolve into water forming a clear solution. Hence, this mixture is a solution.
  • Isopropanol + sucrose: As isopropanol is less polar in nature as compared to water. So, when sucrose is added to it then only small amount of sucrose will dissolve in it and not all of it. Therefore, a mixture of isopropanol and sucrose is a suspension.

How many moles are in 153 grams of O2?
Tatiana [17]

Answer:

4.78 mol O2

Explanation:

Grams --> moles

Grams/molar mass = moles

153 g O2 / 32 g/mol O2 = 4.78125 (significant figures so round it up; the grams has 3 significant figures, so round it up) 4.78 mol O2

15. Calculate the hydrogen ion concentration of a
deff fn [24]

Answer:

Explanation:

pH = − log [H+] , we can solve for [H+] as,

− pH = log [H+] ,

[H+] = 10^−pH,

so PH =2.4 in you case is

[H+] = 10^-2.4 =0.00398
