The Articles of Confederation was our first plan of government after the Revolutionary War. One success this plan of government had was in how it dealt with the organization and the sale of western lands. ohaa [14]

Answer:

The First Continental Congress, held from September to October 1774, was a congress of representatives from 12 of the 13 British Colonies. The reason for the convocation was the Intolerable Acts, aimed at stopping the growing resistance of the American colonies.

A Declaration of Rights and Grievances was issued, which contained a statement on the rights of the American colonies to "life, liberty and property," and also protested against the customs and tax policies of the metropolis. It was decided to declare a trade boycott of the metropolis. Beginning on December 1, 1774, both the purchase of English goods and the sale of American goods to the British were prohibited.

weeeeeb [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Several states transitioned to a popular vote for president, leaving South Carolina and Delaware as the only states in which the legislature chose presidential electors. The election marked the rise of Jacksonian Democracy and the transition from the First Party System to the Second Party System

The 1828 presidential election was the first in which non-property-holding white males could vote in the vast majority of states. By the end of the 1820s, attitudes and state laws had shifted in favor of universal white male suffrage.

Which of the following BEST describes an important strength of the Articles of Confederation?
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer:

D.  It provided for a system of checks and balances.

Explanation:

After the signing of the Articles of Confederation, thirteen colonies, which became now states, adopted their own constitutions. Their main goal was to ensure those “inalienable rights,” the violation of which prompted the colonies to sever relations with Great Britain. Each constitution proclaimed certain general principles that the state government was going to follow. The constitutions of all states provided for the separation of powers into the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, the introduction of a system of checks and balances, in which each branch of government was limited and balanced by the others.
