The first part is 48 and the second part is 36.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let,

The first half = x

The second half = y

According to given statement;

x+y=84       Eqn 1

\frac{1}{2}x-\frac{1}{3}y=12\ \ \ Eqn\ 2

Multiplying Eqn 1 by \frac{1}{2}

\frac{1}{2}(x+y=84)\\\\\frac{1}{2}x+\frac{1}{2}y=42\ \ \ Eqn\ 3

Subtracting Eqn 2 from Eqn 3

(\frac{1}{2}x+\frac{1}{2}y)-(\frac{1}{2}x-\frac{1}{3}y=42-12\\\\\frac{1}{2}x+\frac{1}{2}y-\frac{1}{2}x+\frac{1}{3}y=30\\\\\frac{1}{2}y+\frac{1}{3}y=30\\\\\frac{3y+2y}{6}=30\\\\\frac{5y}{6}=30

Multiplying both sides by \frac{6}{5}

\frac{6}{5}*\frac{5}{6}y=30*\frac{6}{5}\\\\y=\frac{180}{5}\\\\y=36

Putting y=36 in Eqn 1

x+36=84\\x=84-36\\x=48

The first part is 48 and the second part is 36.

What is 36 divided by 1.5 in long division
Tatiana [17]

Answer: 24

To calculate with long division when the divisor is a decimal, add zeroes in both the dividend and divisor. This means you get 360 ÷ 15.

From here, just do normal calculation and you get 24 as your answer.

For what values of X are the statements below true
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

See solutions below

Step-by-step explanation:

For what values of X are the statements below true

A. 1x>x+1

x >x+1

x-x>1

0x > 1

x > 1/0

X >∞

B) |1-x|>3

The fucntion can both be positive and negative

For the negative function

-(1-x) > 3

-1+x > 3

x > 3+1

x > 4

For the positive function

1-x > 3

-x > 3 - 1

-x > 2

x < -2

Hence the required solutions are x > 4 and x < -2

c) For the equation

|x-15| < 0

-(x - 15) < 0

-x + 15 < 0

-x < -15

x > 15

Also x-15 < 0

x < 0+15

x < 15

Hence the required solution is x > 15 and x < 15
