The original name for Asian Homo erectus was Group of answer choices Homo rudolfensis. Australopithecus. Paranthropus. Pithecant
Effectus [21]

Answer: Pithecanthropus erectus.

Explanation:

Between 1891 and 1892 Eugène Dubois believed he had found the "missing link", hypothesized by Ernst Haeckel, when he discovered some loose teeth, a skull cap and a femur - very similar to that of modern man - in the excavations he was carrying out in Trinil, located on the island of Java, Indonesia. Homo erectus erectus was the first specimen of Homo erectus to be discovered.  Dubois first named it <u>Anthropopithecus erectus and then renamed it Pithecanthropus erectus.</u> The name Homo erectus means in Latin "erect man", wich means, "standing man", whereas Pithecantropus erectus means "standing ape-man".

So, Dubois published these findings as Pithecanthropus erectus in 1894, more popularly known as "Java Man" or "Trinil Man". In the 1930s the German palaeontologist Ralpf von Koenigswald obtained new fossils, both from Trinil and from new locations such as Sangiran and in 1938 von Koenigswald identified a magnificent Sangiran skull as "Pithecanthropus". It was not until 1940 that Mayr attributed all these remains to the genus Homo (Homo erectus erectus).

Manifestations of osteoarthritis include ( Select all that apply.) nodules on joints of the hands. crepitus with joint movement.
fiasKO [112]

Answer:

All options are correct, that is, they would all be correct for osteoarthritis.

This disease is characterized by being very painful at the joint level, it is degenerative, and mobility decreases over time.

Explanation:

Osteoarthritis is a pathology that is based on the fegenerative destruction of the joints, generating edema and loss of function, that is why it is pain.

The pain is very intense and very marked, that is why it is treated with immunosuppressive drugs and analgesics. (In addition to kinesiology and physiotherapy).

This disease decreases the functional unit and the joint space, generating possible ankylosis, pseudoarthrosis, elimination of lubricating fluid from joints and nodular structures. These nodular structures tend to be more common in the hands and are called by professionals as "drum fingers".

(protein)?
belka [17]

Answer:

Since, the original DNA sequence has not been provided, the mutation can be an insertion/deletion or a frameshift mutation.

  1. Mutated DNA
  2. Frameshift mutation/ insertion or deletion
  3. All the amino acids  changed after the  point mutation

Explanation:

Frameshift Mutation:

  • A frameshift mutation is the alteration in the reading frame of the DNA due to the addition/deletion of one or two nucleotides.
  • This type of mutation moves the mRNA sequence one or two bases forwards or backwards which disrupts the three base codons sequence required for translation into proteins.
  • The CT at the end of the sequence is indicative of a frameshift in the DNA reading frame.
  • Frameshift mutation affect all amino acids in a polypeptide chain as all codons are moved one or two steps forwards or backwards.

The Ring of Fire is a region of tectonic activity. This means that it is an area where __________ are especially common.
Andreas93 [3]
<h2>Answer:</h2>

<u>a. Earth quakes</u> are common.

<h2>Explanation:</h2>

"Ring of Fire" is a significant region in the bowl of Pacific Ocean where numerous earthquakes and volcanic ejections happen. In an enormous 40,000 km horseshoe shape, it is related to an about nonstop arrangement of maritime channels, volcanic circular segments, and volcanic belts and plate developments. It has 452 volcanoes.

About 90% of the world's tremors and about 81% of the world's biggest seismic tremors happen along the "Ring of Fire". The Ring of Fire is an immediate aftereffect of plate tectonics: the development and impacts of lithospheric plates, particularly subduction in the northern segment.
